INHALE DEEP

When the curtains rise, With expectant eyes

The music to start on cue

In the stage light dawn, Tendons tightly drawn

Her muscles in a corkscrew

Focused out and in, About to begin

She is calm before the storm

Looking in and out, Having no self-doubt

Poise graces her spine and form

Her practice complete, The world at her feet

Bows on strings to weep and sing

Become kinetic, Movement poetic

She will inhale deep and spring!
